Our Story
Te Kakara Rongoā means aroma of healing, and this kaupapa has always been close to my heart. My journey began through a real passion for natural healing and was inspired by my aunty, who helped guide and encourage me to start.
As a young māmā and qualified Pharmacy Technician, I wanted to create products that felt gentle, honest and grounded in care — something that could support everyday wellbeing and help make natural healthcare more accessible for whānau. Te Kakara Rongoā comes from a true love for community, health and caring for people in a natural way.

Kia ora, ko Te Kakara Rongoā Morehu tōku ingoa. My name, Te Kakara Rongoā, means aroma of healing, and that meaning has shaped the heart behind this business. I’m a solo māmā, founder of Te Kakara Rongoā, and a qualified Pharmacy Technician with a deep passion for hauora. Becoming a mother strengthened my desire to build something meaningful for my daughter and to help make natural care more available for others.
My faith is also a deeply important part of who I am and why I do this. I have seen God heal, and I believe true healing comes from Him. For me, Te Kakara Rongoā is about caring for the body with the natural gifts we have been given, while keeping faith at the centre.
With the inspiration and support of my aunty, I began creating rongoā-inspired balms for everyday skin and body care. Te Kakara Rongoā is more than a business to me — it is a reflection of my heart for community, health, faith and making a positive difference for whānau.
